tewardship is how we say thanks to our generous creator. There are many ways to say thanks and support the ministry of Timothy Eaton Memorial Church. Each of us has special talents and skills, and different amounts of time to volunteer. There are some 75 areas in the Church to choose to make a difference.
To support TEMC financially through the General Fund, as well as the Mission & Service Fund of the United Church of Canada, there are several options:
- Weekly envelopes
- Automatic bank deductions through pre-authorized remittance
- Postdated monthly cheques
- VISA
- Appreciated securities (May 2006 - these are now exempt from capital gains tax.)
- Memorial gifts in celebration of lives well lived
- Special gifts to commemorate special occasions
- Annuity gift plans
- Remembering TEMC in your will
Your donation to TEMC’s General Fund makes a difference in people’s lives through contact with the ministers, relationship building and mending, worship, pastoral care, Christian development and education and community ministry.
On March 30th 2003, we launched our capital campaign celebrating our “Glorious Past and Promising Future.” Our goal is $3,800,000 to upgrade our facilities and improve access to the Church. We have raised 97 per cent or $3,700,000 of the necessary funds to finish the most important aspects of the master plan. We have concluded the refurbishments to the East Chapel and the Radio Broadcast Room and modernized and expanded our washroom facilities. An atrium is now in place of the old interior court-yard complete with a new elevator to all levels of the Church. This summer, Dunvegan Hall was redecorated and we expect the entrance way to the West Assembly Hall of the Church from Warren Road will be finished early in the fall.
We are delighted with the enthusiastic response to the Renewal Campaign. The Stewardship, Mission & Service & Accommodation Committee is grateful to all who have generously donated their time and financial resources to this exciting project. We would like to encourage everyone to make a contribution and be part of our “Promising Future”.
Plan to attend TEMC’s fifth Snowball Soirée on December 6, 2007 at the Casa Loma. Mark this date on your calendar and talk to your family and friends about coming and sharing in this wonderful opportunity for fellowship at this magical time of year.
For information on any of the above or if you would like to leave a legacy to TEMC, please contact Catherine E. Davison, Coordinator, Planned Giving & Stewardship, at ext. 223.
